SAVANNAH, Ga. — The Savannah Ghost Pirates, proud ECHL affiliate of the Florida Panthers, announced today that they have re-signed forward Matt Koopman and defenseman Noah Carroll for the 2026–27 season.
Koopman, 28, returns to Savannah for his second season with the Ghost Pirates after recording 10 goals and 12 assists in 2025–26. He capped off the season by scoring the first playoff goal in franchise history during the Ghost Pirates’ inaugural Kelly Cup Playoff appearance. The Marblehead, Massachusetts, native has appeared in 221 professional games, totaling 41 goals and 47 assists while adding five career shorthanded goals.
Carroll, 28, returns for his fourth season with the Ghost Pirates after setting a career high with four goals along with 8 assists during the 2025–26 campaign. He also led Savannah’s defensemen in postseason scoring and finished tied for the team lead with three points during the Kelly Cup Playoffs. The Strathroy, Ontario, native has appeared in 162 professional games, including 111 with the Ghost Pirates. He has also skated in six American Hockey League games with the Henderson Silver Knights and 45 contests with the Manchester Storm of the Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL).
